Dental and Maxillofacial CT imaging
Dental and Maxillofacial CT scans can help diagnose and monitor a range of conditions such as cavities, infection, impacted teeth, jaw pain or disorders, bone loss, salivary gland issues, cancers, fractures and more.
Envision offer a range of Dental and Maxillofacial CT scans.
CT Dentascan is a type of CT which uses advanced technology to construct 3D images of your upper and lower jaw and surrounding tissues. These scans can be useful for assessing impacted teeth, and to diagnose disease of the teeth or jaw, which may require dental or surgical treatment.
A CT TM Joints scan is a multi-slice CT scan used to scan your temporomandibular joint (TM) to produce 3D images.
TMJ refers to your jaw joint, the temporo-mandibular joint. An injection of local anaesthetic and/or steroid of this joint is performed under CT guidance. The injection is usually done to alleviate pain and, rarely, to assist in a ‘locked jaw’.
Please inform our booking staff if you are on Warfarin, Plavix or any other blood thinning agents, or have any other medication allergies when you book this scan.
Multi-slice CT is used to scan the face, jaws and teeth to produce 3D images.
A Mandible and Maxilla CT scan uses multislice CT to scan the jaws and teeth to produce 3D images.
This scan is used to obtain detailed and precise imaging of the mandible and maxilla for diagnostic purposes. The scan helps professionals evaluate and assess conditions and abnormalities affecting the jaw.
CT Neck scans use CT imaging to create 3D images of your neck area. They can be useful in investigating the salivary glands, lymph nodes and thyroid as well as lesions, infections and injuries to the soft tissues of the neck.
A CT Sialogram uses CT and a contrast dye to study your salivary glands and ducts. The contrast is injected into the duct of a salivary gland, which allows it to show up in imaging.
