Tonya completed her undergraduate training at University of Glasgow in 1989, working at the Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Hopsitals in Glasgow before commencing her Radiology training in 1996.
Tonya arrived in Perth in 2002 undertaking a Fellowship in Cross Sectional Imaging at Royal Perth Hospital before returning to the UK for 3 years working as an MRI consultant radiologist. In 2006 Tonya relocated to Perth, working in private practice and at Royal Perth Hospital and she completed her RANZCR Fellowship in 2007. Tonya joined Envision in 2010.
Throughout her training Tonya developed specific interests and expertise in hepatic, pancreatic and gynaecological imaging and the assessment of oncology patients. She has continued to develop her clinical expertise at Royal Perth Hospital as a member of the abdominal imaging team. Tonya is involved in the Colorectal Cancer, Upper Gastrointestinal, Oncology and Lymphoma meetings.
Over the past year Tonya has undertaken training in CT colonoscopy expected to play an increasing role in detection and screening for colorectal malignancy. She is involved in teaching medical students, interns and Radiology Registrars.
